Why Have an In-Home Consultation?

Text Size +
To get the best results, Seabridge strongly recommends an in-home consultation when considering buying a walk in tub. We do it all: custom manufacturing your walk in tub, installation and renovation, disposal of your old bathtub, and customer service years later.

There is no charge for the consultation, it helps you understand the work involved, it enables you to make a better decision, and we give you a firm, written price estimate.

Installing a walk in tub is a renovation. We learn about your needs and you learn what's involved when installing your walk in tub.

To better understand the installation process, here are just some of the questions that are most effectively answered during a consultation.

Examples of Your Questions

  • What model is most appropriate for me?
  • Can I clean myself during the renovation? How long will the installer be able to work per day? What hours can the installer work in my home?

Examples of Our Questions

General

  • What are the dimensions of the space where the new bathtub is going? Will an extension box be needed to fill the gap between the new bathtub and the wall?

Plumbing

  • What are the water supply lines made of? Copper, plastic, or galvanized pipe? How big are they, ½" or ¾"?
  • What is the water drain plumbing made of? Cast iron or plastic?
  • Will the toilet have to be removed to install the bathtub? If so, is the existing toilet going to be reinstalled, or a new one?

Hot Water Supply

  • Is the hot water system gas, electric, oil, instantaneous, or multi-unit boiler?
  • What's the capacity? 40 gallon, 60 gallon, or some other capacity?

Electrical (Air Massage Option)

  • Can a new wire be run to the air massage motor from the main electrical panel? How far is the panel from the bathroom? Are there free spaces on the panel?

Shower Option

  • Which wall will have the shower valve? Same location, opposite wall, or side wall?

Finishing Materials

  • After the new tub is installed, what materials are used to finish the wall? Barkerboard or tile?
  • What color of transition strip should be used on the floor between the bathtub and the rest of the bathroom floor?

Accessories

  • Do new grab bars need to be installed? Where?

This is a sample of the questions that need to be answered. Our experience over ten years is they can best be answered during an in-home consultation.

The consultation is free and there is no obligation. To arrange for one of our installation consultants to visit you at your convenience, please call 1-800-330-3317.
